iMed Studios launches Myobloc website for healthcare professionals
iMed Studios is proud to announce the launch of Myobloc.com, a website targeted to healthcare professionals searching for information on cervical dystonia, a movement disorder that causes the neck and shoulder muscles to contract and spasm involuntarily. Launched on June 30, 2008, along with the accompanying reimbursement services site, the sites serve to educate HCPs not only on cervical dystonia and Myobloc® (Botulinum Toxin Type B) Injectable Solution, but provide valuable information to help improve patient access, using a case management approach to assist healthcare professionals with the reimbursement process.
Developed as a collaborative effort with our sister agency, Brand Pharm, iMed spearheaded the information architecture, web design and development, as well as project management support for this project.
Myobloc® (Botulinum Toxin Type B) Injectable Solution is indicated for the treatment of patients with cervical dystonia to reduce the severity of abnormal head position and neck pain associated with cervical dystonia.
iMed Studios wins In-Awe award for Convatec Interactive Skincare and Wound Algorithm Solution
ConvaTec and iMed Studios were recently presented with an In-Awe Award for our work on an interactive, CD-ROM-based resource entitled the “Solutions® Algorithm for Skin and Woundcare.” This innovative resource helps HCPs maximize patient skin integrity by determining protocols for care of chronic wounds. Utilizing a user-friendly Decision Tree interface as well as Decision Tree database structure for algorithm assets, customized protocols are provided based on information that the HCP inputs throughout the different stages of the wound healing process. Each algorithm leads to Product Selection and contains the ability for users to print final protocols, product selections and directions on how to use the appropriate products.
During the In-Awe Awards Dinner, which took place on June 5th in Dallas, the ConvaTec Wound Tool was presented with the Bronze award in the Medical Education/Interactive category. This industry recognition is a true testament of the passion, innovative thinking and wonderful collaboration between ConvaTec and iMed that went into the development of this tool.
The International Awards of Excellence (IN-AWE Awards) have been one of the healthcare advertising and marketing industry's most prestigious honors since their founding in 1985.
Unique among healthcare awards shows for incorporating strategy and performance-as well as visual creative appeal-into the judging criteria, winning a Gold, Silver or Bronze IN-AWE Award has always stood as a true testament of effective healthcare marketing.
This year's competition included more than 900 entries from over 140 companies seeking to compare their best work on measures of visual creative appeal, marketing strategy and performance. A panel of 38 judges with experience in healthcare marketing from both the industry-side and agency-side evaluated the submissions looking for this year's best medical marketing.
iMed Studios launches AFMD.net online community - A disease state website
iMed Studios, partnered with sister agency Medicus NY, is proud to announce the launch of the AFMD.net online community.
AFMD.net is a professionally-focused, educational web portal that serves as a single source of information for cardiologists, electrophysiologists and primary care physicians regarding the complex clinical and scientific challenges of atrial fibrillation (AFib). Powered by a distinguished panel of cardiologists and electrophysiologists that help to guide content and identify areas of emerging clinical and scientific interest, AFMD.net serves to provide as well as obtain comprehensive information that is relevant, timely, and educational.

What sets AFMD.net apart from other physician education websites is not only the high level of interactive mechanisms designed to engage and, indeed, empower our cardiology audience, but the addition of a social networking feature that allows HCPs to build their own network of colleagues in order to promote the exchange of ideas and the sharing of clinical experience and information related to AFib. Additionally, this portal provides grassroots cardiologists access to KOLs with whom they may not have had
access to under normal circumstances.
Capitalizing on the current Web 2.0 phenomenon, this web site provides an online solution that bridges the gap between open communication (ie, blogging) on a web site and a more structured format, from an educational and in-label standpoint, that maintains pharmaceutical industry standards. Once opted into the AFMD.net network, physicians can extend invitations to individuals from the broader list of participants for acceptance into their own personal network. If accepted, personal e-mail addresses are provided and discussions may commence offline. Opportunities also exist to recommend web site content to colleagues who are not current members of the networking community and invite them to join AFMD.net, further extending the reach of the site.
AFMD.net also allows physicians to have a voice in the content they receive vis a vis a ratings system, bi-monthly polling and quarterly surveys. Additionally, a comprehensive CRM program has been built around the website, segmenting physicians and building relationships with our target audiences based on their behaviors and beliefs; thus enabling marketing teams to monitor physicians’ attitudes and beliefs, allowing the fine-tuning of messages and content based on information generated by the physicians themselves, as well as establish and maintain ongoing relationships and communications with our target physicians.
iMed Studios’ 3D animations win big at the 2008 Aurora Awards
iMed Studios was honored with four 2008 Aurora Awards, an international competition designed to recognize excellence in the film and video industries. Entries for the competition come from independent, corporate, and freelance production groups, advertising agencies, and broadcast stations from around the world.
Two of iMed’s 3D animation entries: Merrem IV, Appropriate Use in an Era of Antibiotic Resistance, and the iMed Studios Demo Reel received the highest honor, “Platinum Best in Show”.
Two additional 3D entries: Benzaclin and The Booth of the Future received Gold Awards. The Benzaclin and Merrem animation story lines were developed in partnership with our sister agency Saatchi and Saatchi Healthcare Innovations.
“We are very pleased that our work has been judged as outstanding by industry leaders” said Carol Jacobson, iMed Studios President. “In our 10+ years of creating 3D animations, we always strive to bring new techniques and methods to each and every animation. When our work is recognized for these efforts, we couldn’t be happier.”
3D Mechanism of Action animation for mTor wins InAwe and Telly Awards.
This animation for Wyeth educates physicians about recent research in the mammalian target of rapamycin, commonly known as mTOR. This key kinase has become a focal point for anti-cancer compound research, but is highly complex. Due to its complexity, the strategy was to visually depict the MOA to make it easier for the physician to discuss and understand. iMed partnered with Saatchi&Saatchi Healthcare Innovations (a sister agency within the Publicis Healthcare Communications Group) to develop this 3D program.
The marketing and sales teams felt that the animation was successful in increasing awareness, generating interest, and providing an understanding of the importance of this new anti-cancer pathway research and the possibilities of this exciting new compound. The 3D Mechanism of Action video entitled mTOR: An Important Pathway in Targeting Cancer won multiple awards including 3 Telly Awards and an In Awe award.

Best in Class Digital Detail Wins Again for its dialogue driven Tablet PC Program.
A successful collaboration between iMed Studios, Medicus NY (a sister agency within the Publicis Healthcare Communications Group) and AstraZeneca resulted again in an awarding winning Tablet PC program that beat out over 1000 other communication programs, spanning multiple countries. The challenge was to create a “best in class” digital detail for the oncology sales reps in support of the Arimidex brand. The goals were to lengthen the time spent with the physician, boost the brand messaging, solidify the brand’s positioning as well as enhancing the brand’s leadership position within the breast oncology market.
We developed interactive tools and charts that allow sales reps to not only detail physicians on the key messages but to also engage them in a “dialogue driven detail” leading to better message retention. The iMed and Medicus NY teams worked closely with AZ marketing and sales leadership to make sure that the field force needs were met and to ensure rep adoption upon roll-out. The end product resulted in a widely accepted, innovative and effective Tablet PC program and the 2007 In-Awe award from the Medical Marketing Association. An earlier version of this program was also recognized in 2006 as a Global Awards Finalist.
